Raises HDL-cholesterol & lowers LDL/HDL & total cholesterol/HDL ratios. Adjunct to diet & non-dietary measures in reducing elevated total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, & apolipoprotein B in patients w/ homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia. Primary prevention in Type II DM.
